Camps Aplenty At Wawasee This Summer
SYRACUSE – Wawasee High School will have plenty of camps to help further the athletic spirit of kids in the area this summer.
The boys basketball program will host a camp June 1-4 for boys in grades 2-9. The camp will be held at Wawasee High School from 10-11:30 a.m.
The tennis program will host a camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 2 through June 18 at the WHS tennis courts. The 6-7 p.m. camp is for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade. Form for this camp can be picked up at the Lakeland Youth Center in Syracuse.
The volleyball program welcomes incoming girls in grades 3-6 and 7-9 for a camp June 29 through July 1 at WHS. The younger camp runs from 1-3 p.m. and the older camp 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Boys and girls soccer will host a combined camp July 6-9 at WHS. The 6-7:30 p.m. camp is for kids in grades 1-3 and the 6-8:30 p.m. camp is for grades 4-8.
The Wawasee football program will also host a July camp. The dates and times were not finalized at deadline of this publication, but information was handed out to each of the Wawasee schools.
Wawasee swimming hosts a PRO club for young swimmers. While not a weekly camp, swimmers can join at any time through the end of July. Julie Robinson, the high school boys and girls swimming head coach, is the head coach of PRO.
The gymnastics program will host a preschool/kindergarten camp for boys and girls ages 3-6 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. June 23-25. A school-aged camp for girls in incoming grades 1-8 will run from 5-8 p.m. July 6-10. Both camps will be held at WHS.
