Lindsey M. Hively
Lindsey M. Hively, 27, of Columbia City, owner of Poptique Popcorn, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, April 23, 2015.
She was born July 25, 1987, in Columbia City, the daughter of Gary W. and Carol E. (Pence) Hively. A lifelong resident of Whitley County, she graduated from Churubusco High School (the first female pole vaulter), continued her education at Indiana University in Bloomington and graduated from I.P.F.W.
In May 2008, Lindsey opened Kernel Coladas, rebranded to Poptique Popcorn in 2013 and adding the Jefferson Pointe, Fort Wayne location.
Actively involved in her community, Lindsey was a member of EDC, SBEI, Greenlight programs, ROC, YLNI, Whitley County Chamber Board of Directors, Millennial Leaders Alliance, Vision 2020 Millennials, Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission, L.W.C. Alumni, founding member of Columbia City Main Street Association and recipient of 40 under 40.
She was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Colonel del la Balme Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution.
Surviving relatives include her parents: Gary, Columbia City; Carol, Churubusco; a brother: Derek W. Hively, Columbia City; grandmothers: Jeannie Hively, Columbia City; and Sharon Pence, Churubusco; and her fiancé and best friend: Michael Hickman, Fort Wayne.
Her grandfathers, Eugene Hively and Paul Pence, preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Grace Lutheran Church, 204 North Main St., Columbia City, with visitation after 10 a.m. The burial will be in Nolt Cemetery. The visitation will also be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
Preferred memorials are to the final expense account payable to Smith & Sons Funeral Home or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
