Sue Ellen Studebaker
Sue Ellen Studebaker, 65, of Pierceton, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in her residence.
On July 14, 1949, she was born in Wolf Lake, to Glen and Willadene (Heil) Holycross. She was united in marriage to Roger Studebaker on Aug. 10, 1969, in Larwill, who survives.
Sue grew up in Larwill and lived in the Pierceton area for 41 years. She was a teacher for 23 years and she was director of Kosciusko Solid Waste Management District for 15 years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Warsaw; Farm Bureau; Heart-Line Pregnancy Center, Warsaw; and also Morning Optimist Club for several years. Sue served as a leader for 4H for 35 years. She enjoyed gardening and showing goats.
She is survived by her husband: Roger Studebaker, Pierceton; four children: Jonathan Studebaker (fiancé Michelle Sherry), Larwill; Janet (Tim) Moore, Warsaw; Joseph (Nancy) Studebaker, Peru, Neb.; and Jonah (Kayla) Studebaker, Pierceton; her mother: Willadene Holycross, Larwill; her sister: Leah (Mark) Phillipson, Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren: Brittany, Megan, Cody, Dalton, Ethan, Karmon, Tanner, Jason and Khloe; and one great-grandson: Elliot.
Sue was preceded in death by her father.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Bob Conelley officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015, in the Pierceton Funeral Chapel.
