Relay Team Leads Warsaw Track Ladies
INDIANAPOLIS – A strong contingent of runners from the Warsaw girls track team took part in the Franklin Central Flashes Showcase.
Leading the way for the Tigers in the event was the quartet of Nicole Eckert, Audrey Rich, Tennie Worrell and Jazzmine Brown. The foursome earned a third-place finish in the 4 X 400 relay event with a time of 4:02.97.
The Franklin Central 4 X 400 relay team took first in the race with a time of 4:01.98. The Homestead team was second in 4:02.49.
Warsaw posted a 10th place finish in the 4 X 800 event. The team of Hannah Dawson, Charlene Orr, Lauren Orr and Cassie Hoag posted a time of 10:11.90 in the race.
Plainfield won the 4 X 800 event with a winning effort of 9:36.39.
Coach Scott Erba’s Warsaw squad had four runners compete in the 1 Mile Open race. Allison Miller placed 41st in a time of 5:22.03 to lead the Tigers. Mia Beckham was 48th in a time of 5:27.41 with Brooke Rhodes 52nd in 5:40.05 and Anna Craig 55th in 5:47.35.
Taylor Nicholson of Avon won the 1 Mile Open race in 4:56.52.
Warsaw, which is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference, will travel to Plymouth Tuesday to face the host Pilgrims and Elkhart Memorial in NLC action.
