‘Awesome’ Turnout For First Syracuse Mother Son Dance
About 130 people turned out for tonight’s Mommy Son Dance at the Syracuse Community Center. The dance was held as a benefit for Rose Home North of Syracuse. Tammy Cotton, president of the Rose Home, said the turnout was “awesome” for the first year.
“I am very excited. We are happy to offer the opportunity,” she said.
Mothers, sons, grandmothers and grandsons turned out for the event. The evening featured food, dancing, face painting and a short presentation on The Human Worth Project, a pay-it-forward oriented project.
Mothers, like Angie Keens, who came with her son, Carson Nine, 8, said, “We don’t get to do this kind of stuff so it’s nice.”
