Washington Arrested For Strangulation, Battery
Davion Marquis Washington, 25, 111 S. Wood St., Warsaw, was arrested early this morning on preliminary charges of strangulation and battery causing bodily injury. He is being held on $2,000 surety bond.
Warsaw Police Lt. Kip Shuter reports Kelsie M. Miller, 20, came to Warsaw Police Department at approximately 11:34 p.m. to report being strangled and assaulted by Washington at his residence. She suffered bruising to the left eye, swelling to the right side of her face, bruising and red marks to her face and neck.
According to the police report, Miller was asked by Washington to come to his residence around 11 p.m. After she refused to take him to Fort Wayne to obtain personal items, he became upset. Washington allegedly began yelling and pushing Miller. During the argument he pulled the back of her hair and grabbed her neck with his hands. She told police she could not breathe, but did not lose consciousness.
After Miller told her to leave, he threw her shoes at her, breaking her glasses. At one point he reportedly rushed her, grabbing her head and “slamming it” through a closet door in the bedroom.
