Celebrate 90 Years Of Camp Mack
A special weekend along with a worship celebration and canoe picnic is planned Aug. 28-30 at Camp Mack in celebration of it’s 90th anniversary.
Camp Mack is located on Waubee Lake, south of Milford.
All who have attended Camp Mack for any event are welcome “Back To Mack” to share with others as the camp celebrates it’s 90 years of ministry. Individuals are invited to come and reconnect with old friends, make new friends and share memories.
The schedule will be announced at a later date, but activities include morning dip, swimming, boating, vespers, morning watch, chimes, campfires, hymn sing, worship, canoe picnic, popcorn in the kettle, the “Becky Ball-Miller” waterfront speech and a lot more.
Accommodations are available for those who wish to participate in an entire weekend full of activities. Individuals can also bring his/her own tent, pup up or RV. Meals will be included with the price of the weekend and individual meals are available with day rates. Registration options will include lodging/meal full coverage options and day rate/meal options. Preregistration is recommended.
The Sunday Worship celebration and canoe picnic are free, but preregistration is recommended.
Camp staff would love for groups who have come to camp over the years to set aside a time to gather and share stories. Camp officials will help designate location and time to sit in the shade, sip lemonade and remember the days at camp. The camp’s website: www.campmack.org/page/191/Camp-Mack-Homecoming, will list groups who are planning reunions during this time along with a contact person for that group. Reunion groups will be added to the site as information is received. So far reunions have been planned for camp summer staff alumni and a Decades Reunion.
Individuals can also add a leaf to the living cross (Camp Mack Family Tree). Beneath the limbs to this tree a timeline of the camp’s 90 years in ministry will be placed. A larger timeline with pictures and points of interest will spread the walls of the camp’s dining halls. Everyone, who has ever come to camp, whether 1 or 90 years old, are encouraged to place a leaf on the tree with his/her name and the number of years you have been coming to camp. It is hoped to fill the wall with stores and names. There is a suggested donation of $1 per year attended camp.
