Elkhart
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
2:09 p.m. Sunday, April 12, CR 46, east of CR 31, east of New Paris. Driver: Nancy Cannon, 48, Syracuse. Cannon suffered left leg pain and was taken to IU Health-Goshen. Cannon was wetstbound on CR 46 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, when she went off the roadway. Cannon laid the motorcycle down on the left side.
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
12:47 p.m. Sunday, April 12, East CR 500N and EMS T5 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Kurtis M. Gunkel, 40, EMS C29 Lane, Warsaw. A gust of wind caused Gunkel to loose control of his motorcycle, going off the road, into a ditch and overturning. He was ejected from the motorcycle but reported no injuries. Damage up to $2,500.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:26 p.m. Thursday, April 9, South Main Street, north of East Esterbrook Drive, North Webster. Driver: Terry L. Miller, 64, North SR 13, Pierceton. Swerved to miss a deer, went into a ditch damaging the yard at Tactical Hunting Solutions. He was cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:08 p.m. Sunday, April 12, North Tamarack Street and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Driver: Anthony J. Hackworth, 28, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Hackworth’s motorcycle hit the side of a parked vehicle registered to Enterprise Leasing, North Lake Street, Warsaw, after not turning a corner sharp enough. Damage up to $2,500.
5:39 a.m. Sunday, April 12, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Darren J. Heinzman, 33, East CR 100S, Pierceton. Heinzman’s vehicle went off the road into a yard owned by Willie D. Lafferty, hitting a large boulder and rolling onto the driver’s side. Police found various items used in the manufacturing of meth in and around the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing. Heinzman was arrested for dealing meth and possession of precursors. Damage up to $5,000.
3:36 p.m. Saturday, April 11, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Thomas E. Patt, North Washington Street, Bourbon, returned to his vehicle after shopping and found the front of his vehicle had been struck. A witness observed a semitractor turning in the parking lot and while the semitractor driver was completing the turn strike the front of the Patt vehicle before leaving the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
1:03 p.m. Saturday, April 11, Lake City Highway, west of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeronimo Arce, 26, Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw, and Benjamin M. Slavinski, 27, Washington Street, Bradford, Penn. Arce’s vehicle cross the center line while turning from Lake City Highway onto East Center Street, sideswiping the Slavinski vehicle. Arce was arrested for driving while suspended. Damage up to $2,500.
12:21 p.m. Saturday, April 11, North Colfax Street, south of East Clark Street, Warsaw. George M. Vires, East Market Street, Warsaw, walked out of a residence on Colfax street and found someone had hit his vehicle and left the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
11:05 a.m. Saturday, April 11, West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Howard E. Woodward, 70, P.O. Box, Warsaw, and Lacey J. Mullins, 21, Heron Boulevard, Warsaw. Woodward failed to stop at a stop sign hitting the Mullins vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
