There was an unusual amount of officers in the Mentone area this morning causing some residents to wonder what was transpiring.
Jon Hart, Tippecanoe Valley School Resource Office, reports four K9 units were brought in to search the hall ways and locker areas at the high school, middle school and Burket Educational Center for controlled substances. The parking lots were also searched.
While the dogs showed interests in a couple vehicles, a search resulted in good news.
K9 officers and departments assisting in the search included Indiana State Police, Winona Lake and Warsaw police departments and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
“We are very pleased with our students,” said Hart.
