KCC Hosting ‘Meet The Candidates’ Event April 23
Join the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce for Meet The Candidates from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Lakeview Middle School located at 848 E. Smith St., Warsaw.
A Primary Election will be held within the county on May 5, 2015. Meet The Candidates provides opportunity for voters to better know their candidates. Currently the contested offices include Clerk-Treasurer and City Council At-Large. Both the Republican and Democrat parties will be represented for City Council At-Large. The office of Mayor is uncontested.
The event will begin with a “Meet and Greet” so constituents can meet the candidates. Following the “Meet and Greet” there will be a question and answer opportunity for the contested candidates.

Also on this year’s Primary Election ballot is the local referendum question for Warsaw Community Schools which reads:
“Shall Warsaw Community Schools issue bonds or enter into a lease to finance the construction of a replacement of Lincoln Elementary School and the renovation of and improvements to the Washington Elementary School and Edgewood Middle School, which is estimated to cost not more than $39,900,000 and is estimated to increase the property tax rate for debt service by a maximum of $0.138 per $100 of assessed valuation over the 20 year life of the bonds?”
