Visiting Display At Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum
A new visiting display is being featured at the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum, inside the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive, through mid-May. The display focuses on Margaret Mead and her connection to the Syracuse community.
The display was organized by two Cadette Girl Scouts from Mishawaka Troop 30134, Patrice and Catherine Serianni, Wakarusa.
An interview to an area newspaper on one Mead’s visits to Syracuse piqued the girls’ interest and inspired them to create the display. The display also has a seek-and-find museum activity connecting Mead’s life and interests to some of the museum’s regularly displayed artifacts.
The museum is open 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
