Christine Jo Little
Christine Jo Little, 58, passed away peacefully at 9 a.m. Monday, March 30, after a lengthy battle with colon cancer at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne after a weekend of being surrounded by close friends who shared her life.
She was born in Warsaw on Aug. 12, 1956, to William F. and Earlene (Heagy) Little and raised on the family farm where she developed her lifelong passion for animals. She was literally an animal whisperer with her innate ability to fully understand and communicate with them. Chris spent her life assisting with the care of her beloved brother Ken, who was afflicted with spina bifida. Theirs’ was a special bond that included their own private language and instinctively knowing what the other was thinking. Together, they were “guilty,” individually they were “innocent.”
Chris and Ken graduated together from Warsaw High School with the class of 1976. She enjoyed her time cheering at the many dog agility trials she attended. She derived enormous pleasure holding dogs and visiting with her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents: Roy V. and Phoebe Little; Maurice and Vergie Heagy; and her brother:Kenneth W. Little.
She is survived by her sister: Carolyn (John) Williamson, Claypool.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool with Pastor Butch Troke officiating. There are no visitation hours planned.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dream Paws Animal Rescue, 3015 Wild Cherry Ridge West, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
