Juanita Osbun
Juanita Osbun, 87, passed away at 8:02 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
Born June 13, 1927 in Warsaw, Juanita was the daughter of Delmar and Wanda (Tompkins) Evans. She and Stephen Osbun would marry July 5, 1945 in Leesburg.
Juanita was a lifetime Warsaw homemaker who also worked at Harvey’s Dime Store and in later years as a greeter for Wal-Mart.
She was a member of the Warsaw Order of the Eastern Star, St. Anne’s Episcopal Church and The Salvation Army Auxiliary. Juanita enjoyed baking and cooking; she was proud of her 4-H Fair championship apple pies. She was a good friend to many as she never knew a stranger. Juanita was ‘mom’ or ‘grandma’ to many of the staff at Mason’s. Even those who no longer worked there would come back to visit her if they heard she was not feeling well. She loved living at Retired Tigers and especially loved living at Mason’s. She was a good mom who loved her grandchildren and was a wonderful sister.
Juanita is survived by her family; 5 children: 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Cindy (Larry) Fisher, Leo; and Pamela (John) Lehman, Warsaw; and 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: Stephen (Chong) Osbun, Temecula, Calif.; Mark Osbun, Knox; and Jim (Connie) Young, Montgomery; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; 2 step grandchildren; and a sister: Joan Havlin, Knox.
In addition to Stephen, her husband who passed away Sep. 4, 1965, she is preceded by 4 brothers: Rev. Larry Evans (June 24, 2005); Earl C. Evans (May 13, 2002); Samuel H. Evans (Nov. 6, 1979); and Infant Eugene Evans. Also preceding is a sister, Mary L. Young (Oct. 29, 2010).
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing memories and condolences as they comfort one another from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 30 at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A service celebrating the life of Juanita Osbun will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in the funeral home. Rev. Corinne Hodges of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church (Warsaw) will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
