Wawasee Shuts Down Track Meets
SYRACUSE – As has been the case all March, outdoor track is just not happening with the weather given. Thursday’s expected highs in the upper 30s and possible snow in the morning has forced Wawasee to cancel its home opening boys and girls track meets against West Noble and Westview.
Wawasee has already had road duals at East Noble and Columbia City cancelled from cold weather this month.
Wawasee may not get a track meet in until April as Saturday’s forecast is expected to yield just a high in the mid-30s for the scheduled Jim Eger Relays held at Elkhart Memorial High School. Should the meet get cancelled, Wawasee’s first meets would be in the Northern Lakes Conference round robin.
The Wawasee girls open NLC play at Warsaw for a triangular with Northridge Tuesday, April 14, and the boys would open Thursday, April 16, at Plymouth.
