William L. ‘Bill’ Hoene
William L. “Bill” Hoene, 67, of Warsaw, IN (Chapman Lake) passed away at 3:08 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.
He was born on April 11, 1947, in Effingham, to Frank Henry and Emma Catherine (Repking) Hoene.
He grew up in Effingham, graduated in 1965 from St. Anthony High School in Effingham, 1969 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., and was a United States Army veteran. He moved to the Kosciusko County area in 1978 from Sterling, Ill., and was married on March 21, 1982, in Jackson, Mich., to Nelva D. “Nellie” (Rickman) Burt who survives. He was the owner/operator of Hoene Tiling in Leesburg, for 12 years and former manager at CFS in Milford, for 15 years.
He was raised in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham, member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters: Jennifer (James) Sawyer, Michigan City; Amy Hoene, Indianapolis; Sharon Burgett, Chelsea, Mich.; and Deb (Bud) Garman, Pierceton; two sons: William (Teresa) Baisden and Rick Baisden both, Warsaw; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary (William) Flach, Edwardsville, Ill.; Carol (Ron) West of Watson, Ill.; three brothers: Frank (Janet) Hoene, Effingham; Mike (Cindy) Hoene, Effingham; Patrick (Kippy) Hoene of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson: Hunter Lewis; and sister: Norma Wagner.
Private family services will be held later this week at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster.
Owen Family Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
