Dennis L. Hersch
Dennis L. ‘Mooch Man’ Hersch, 62 of Warsaw, passed away at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
On May 23, 1952, he was born in Warsaw, to Frank J. and Bonnie J. (Blankenship) Hersch. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1969–1972 during the Vietnam Conflict with 52 Bravo and Combat Engineers.
After moving back to Warsaw in 1990, Dennis worked as an auto body painter for Explorer Van, where he retired. He was a member of American legion Post #49, Warsaw and Wounded Warrior Project. Dennis was also heavily involved with volunteering for Animal Welfare league of Kosciusko County, Toys for Tots and the Veterans Administration, helping with donations, giving of his time and giving care packages.
Dennis is survived by his brother: Dan R. Kindle, Altoona, Pa.; and his sister: Anita Hartley, Florida; several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister: Linda Lorraine Lyons Shafer; and his beloved dog: Coley.
There are no services or visitation planned. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, with military honors provided by the American legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1196, Warsaw.
