Purduettes To Sing At Purdue Alumni Club Annual Meeting
By MARY ANN LIENHART CROSS
Extension Educator, Purdue Extension Elkhart County
The Purduettes choral group will be the entertainment for the 15th Annual Dinner Meeting of the Purdue Alumni Club of Elkhart County. The event will be Saturday, April 18, at Greencroft Community Center, 1820 Greencroft Boulevard in Goshen. Goshen’s own Abby Wieczorek, a Purduette, will be a special part of the entertainment.
The social time begins at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers followed by the buffet dinner of chicken and Swiss steak at 6 p.m.
Fundraising for scholarships of Elkhart and Lagrange county youth attending Purdue is one of the many purposes of the club. Last year the club awarded $15,500 in scholarships. During the evening to help raise funds there will be silent and live auctions of Purdue memorabilia and two tickets for the Buchannan suite in Ross-Ade Stadium for the Virginia Tech football game.
Cost for the dinner is $20 for adults and $16 for children 12 and under. You may also sponsor dinner for a Purduette for $20. Reservations are required by Monday, April 13. Send reservation, the names of all guests and a check payable to the Purdue Alumni Club of Elkhart County Foundation, P.O. Box 382, Goshen. Payments for the dinner and donations for scholarships can also be made by credit card through Square at squareup.com/market/purdue-club-fdn-elkhart.
