Sandra J. Swihart
Sandra J. Swihart, 71, of Bourbon, Indiana, went to be with the Lord at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She was born April 17, 1943 in Pulaski County, the daughter of Raymond A. and Berniece (Hall) Nitzschke. She was a 1961 graduate of Bourbon High School.
Sandra married Earl Swihart on Jan. 26, 1964 and he survives. She was a homemaker and was a faithful member of the Bourbon Bible Church. She had also worked at Light and Life Bindery at Winona Lake and worked as a Janitor for the Triton School Corporation. Sandra loved gardening, flowers, making crafts, and sewing; she was noted for her artistic ability in paintings.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her son; Brad (Stephanie) Swihart, Warsaw; two grandchildren: Brittany (Mrs. Jeremy) Larson, Jaren (Chassidy) Swihart; step granddaughter, Taryn Whetstone; and 4 great-grandchildren: Michael and Meaka Swihart and Hunter and Mallory Larson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers and an infant sister.
You are invited from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, to celebrate Sandra’s life with family and friends in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon.
Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Goss of Bourbon Bible Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
