Light Celebrates 20 Years As Kosciusko Community Foundation Executive Director
By STEPHANIE OVERBEY
Associate Director, Kosciusko County Community Foundation
Suzie Light is celebrating 20 years as executive director of the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. Light has accomplished much in her 20 years in that position.
“Twenty years ago, the Foundation Board of Directors was looking for a leader,” said Board President, Jerry Yeager. “…someone with a huge heart for the community, a passion for philanthropy, and leadership skills to take the Foundation to the next level. The impact of hiring Suzie for that role is immeasurable.”
When asked about personal highlights over her 20 years as leader, Light’s first response was being able to serve donors. “Meeting donors, learning their stories, understanding their goals, being part of their dreams and actually seeing the result of those dreams coming true…” is the most rewarding part of her career to date. She was also quick to acknowledge the mentoring and leadership of many board members.
The board and staff believe this milestone is important to celebrate because it highlights the stability offered to our donors, grantees and community when great leadership is maintained. In fact, since forming in 1968, the Community Foundation has had just two executive directors, Neal Carlson and Suzie Light.
Congratulations to Suzie Light for her 20 years of service.
