A Bristol man is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $100,000 surety bond. John Bradly Wood, 21, 53013 Pinebrook Drive, Bristol, has been preliminarily charged with a deadly weapon.
Filed in Kosciusko County Superior Court 3, the affidavit of probable cause states Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Bucher spoke with Cindy Schroll who stated around 11 p.m. Jan. 31, a female knocked on her door and came inside the home. The female waived Gage Wood and John Wood inside the residence, intending to stay the night.
Schroll stated both Gage and John Wood were making a lot of noise causing her husband, Kenny Ferguson, to come out of the bedroom, telling the men to leave. The court document states at that time, the men began beating her husband, causing him to lose consciousness. She also saw Gage Wood hitting the kitchen countertop and breaking it, along with knocking items off the counter with a baseball bat.
Ferguson told police he heard the loud noises and grabbed a ball bat before going into the living room. He told the two men to leave and they began to argue with him. He recalls being attacked before loosing consciousness, waking up in pain with lacerations and swelling on his body. The officer saw that Ferguson had swelling, bruising and a laceration on his right temple and eye area, bruising on his right shoulder and right stomach, appearing to be in the shape of the baseball bat, swelling and a laceration to the back of his head and a laceration to an index finger.
The female and Gage Wood both stated that Gage Wood took the bat from Ferguson and John Wood punched Ferguson in the face and knocked him unconscious. Gage Wood punched Ferguson while he was unconscious and used the baseball bat to break the countertop.
