Third Bomb Threat Investigated At Concord
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a third threat this year that there was a bomb inside Concord High School.
Similar to earlier threats reported on Jan. 15 and Jan. 26, today’s message was found written on a wall inside a girl’s bathroom. The threat stated that a person would bomb the school.
In response to these incidents, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is working with school officials to take necessary steps to maintain the safety of the school. Extra patrols and extensive searches of the building are being done.
Any one with information about those making the threats should contact the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department at (574) 891-2300 or leave an anonymous tip on the department’s tip line, which can be accessed through the department’s web site: www.elkhartcountysheriff.com
Those who make a false report about placing an explosive devise inside of a building commit a Level 6 felony, punishable up to 2 1/2 years imprisonment.
