UPDATE: Accident On US 30 Near Pierceton
Three persons were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident at 8:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 3. The accident was on East US 30, east of South CR 450E, Warsaw.
Transported to the hospital were Dailyn Stemen, 7, Kylee Anders, 10, and Issac Stemen, 5, all of North Parks Shram Road, Warsaw. The two oldest children suffered minor bleeding to the face with the youngest complaining of pain to the neck.
The children were passengers in a vehicle driven by Kathryn M. Stemen, 30, North Parks Shram Road, Warsaw. She was not injured. Also injured, but refusing medical attention was Cheraman Vamadevan, 49, Club Course Drive, Fort Wayne. He suffered minor bleeding to the elbow/lower arm.
Kosciusko County Police report Stemen was eastbound on US 30 in the area of CR 450N when she lost control of her 2000 Toyota 4-Runner on the icy highway. The vehicle slid across the median into the westbound lane in front of the Vamadevan, 2011 Acura. Vamadevan was westbound on US 30.
Damage to the vehicles was estimated up to $25,000.
At least two children sustained injuries with more individuals being checked by paramedics in a two-vehicle accident on US 30, reportedly east of CR 450N. Westbound traffic is at a standstill as debris from the accident will need to be cleared.
At least three ambulance units have been sent to the scene.
Multi-Township EMS, Pierceton Fire Department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department are en route to an accident at 4710 East US 30.
Motorist should avoid that area, the road has reportedly been closed down.
