Memory Making Monday
Memory Making Monday for Monday, March 2, has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvience. Memory Making Monday will start back up in April. Call Melinda Roose at (574) 658-9157 for questions.
After School is Cool
Join staff at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, for a movie. The movie is about a boy, Hiro Hamada, a robotics prodigy, and Baymax, a lovable, personal companion robot. When a devastating turn of events hurls them into the middle of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Francisco, Hiro, Baymax and their friends are transformed into a band of unlikely heroes. The movies is rated PG and is 93 minutes. Meet in the meeting room, and we will provide popcorn and refreshments. The movie is good fun for the whole family. Each After School is Cool meeting you attend earns you 10 points. When you have 40 points, you can choose a paperback book to add to your home library.
Preschool Winter Story Time
Join staff for winter story time as we celebrate Dr. Seuss. There are several times to choose from. 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, or 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5.
Knitting Club
Knitting club meets from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, in the teen area of the library. Bring a project and get help from experienced knitters. Even if you’ve never picked up a pair of knitting needles before, you’ll find plenty of help to get you started.
2015 2016 Non-Resident Fees Adopted At Board Meeting
Trustees have adopted a new non-resident fee policy, which is $56 for individuals and $112 for a family. This fee will be in effect until Feb. 15, 2016.
Adult Winter Reading Program
There’s still time for you to sign up for our adult winter reading program, Escape the Ordinary. The program runs through Tuesday, March 31. For each book you listen to, you can sign up to win a weekly prize from the library. Additionally, every Friday is now “Hot Chocolate Friday.” Adults are invited to have a delicious hot chocolate drink and sit and visit with other patrons in the upstairs area of the library. The library staff will be happy to make you a hot chocolate to sip while you browse the stacks or read a book. Warm up your winter at the library.
Game Of Thrones
Are you a fan of the books and HBO series Game of Thrones? Season four has recently been released and is available to check out. The Chicago Sun-Times calls it “The Most Epic, Ambitious Show on Television.” The series is based on George R. R. Martin’s bestselling books, also available at the library. Find out what happens to the Lannisters, Oberyn Martell, the “Red Viper of Dorne” and King Joffrey. Who will sit on the Iron Throne? All four seasons of Game of Thrones are available on DVD at the Milford Library. We also have seasons of Longmire, The Americans and The Vikings, plus many more. Come in and browse through the possibilities. Getting caught up in a great series is a wonderful way to spend a subzero day.
