Phyllis Irene Carter
Phyllis Irene Carter, 92, Warsaw, passed away at 4 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living, Warsaw.
On March 15, 1922, she was born in Warsaw to Cecil and Anna Blanche (Ring) Lindzy. She was united in marriage to Henry A. Carter in 1960 in Brownsville, Texas, who preceded her in death.
Born and raised in Warsaw, Phyllis traveled with her husband, while he served in the military as an U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant. She settled in Fairborn, Ohio in 1968. She was a housewife and a mother of four children. She attended the First Baptist Church, Warsaw and she enjoyed crafts, gardening and flowers.
Phyllis is survived by three daughters: Beverly Ann Hay, Warsaw, Carol Mae (and spouse Ron) Wood, Warsaw and Phyllis (and spouse Dennis) Rash, Bluffton; eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son: Larry Joe Newby and five brothers; Zeldon Lipply, Lamoin Lipply, Ezra Lipply, Cecil Lindzy Jr and Milo Eugene Lindzy.
Visitation hours will be from 4–7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 in the funeral chapel. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
