Milford library events this week:
Nutrition Program
Have you ever tried juicing? Juicing is replacing a traditional meal with a healthy selection of fruits and vegetables processed through a juicer. Join us from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23 in the meeting room for “What’s all the Jazz about Juicing?” Stephanie Faroh, the Purdue Extension Educator, will present the nutrition program. At the end of the program there will be a drawing for door prizes. Sign up at the adult circulation desk. If you have any questions, call (574) 658-4312 for more details.
Adult Craft Night
The Adult Craft night for Monday, Feb. 9, had been postponed. The craft night will now be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12. Kathy Boyts will help you make a mixed-media photo frame. If you have some items you would like to use on your frame, like old costume jewelry or pieces of colored glass, bring them to craft night. Cost is $15. Register at the Adult Circulation Desk by Friday, March 6 to get a spot for the craft night. Money due when you sign up and tell your friends. Craft nights are very informal and relaxing.
After School is Cool
Come one, come all to the After School is Cool Carnival at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. Join staff for a carnival game day in the meeting room. There will be a few carnival games to play and winners get to take home a prize. As you play carnival games, enjoy some carnival snacks. Remember that each After School is Cool you attend earns you 10 points. When you have 40 points, you can choose a paperback book to add to your home library. See you there for carnival fun.
Hot Chocolate Fridays
Every Friday is now “Hot Chocolate Friday.” Adults are invited to have a delicious hot chocolate drink and sit and visit with other patrons in the upstairs area of the library. The library staff will be happy to make you a hot chocolate to sip while you browse the stacks or read a book. Warm up your winter at the library.
Music at your Fingertips
One of the many free services offered by the library is Freegal. Freegal is a service that gives patrons access to music and music video downloads weekly. What exactly is Freegal? Do you use itunes? Freegal is very similar, but the library has paid for the song or videos that you download. There are thousands to choose from. You can browse through all the artists or look for a specific song. If you have a Milford library card and internet access, then you can use Freegal. The patrons who already receive their weekly downloads highly recommend using this service. Stop by and pick up a brochure or call us for more information. Keep downloading those three free songs every week.
