Syracuse Murder Suspect Was Arrested At Gunpoint In Mishawaka
Brandon Thomas Woody, 22, 605 W. North St., Syracuse, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:42 p.m. Thursday, by Indiana State Police. His arrest was made after information was provided by citizens throughout the community being channeled to officers.
Woody was a person of interest in the shooting of Tara Thornburg, 23, 205 E. Main St., Syracuse, and the murder of Joshua Randall Knisley, 19, of the same address. The shootings occurred early Thursday morning at the 205 E. Main St., Syracuse, home. Thornburg was in critical condition following the shooting, no update on her condition was available.
Syracuse Police Chief Tony Ciriello stated information received eventually led them to St. Joseph County.
Undercover officers with the Indiana State Police and Kosciusko County Drug Task Force observed Woody at a gas station in the city of Mishawaka, shortly after 2 p.m. He was taken into custody at gunpoint. Woody was then transported by Indiana State Police and Kosciusko County officers back to Warsaw.
According to Woody’s booking sheet he is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on preliminary charges of felony murder with no bond. The preliminary charge of battery causing bodily injury lists a bond of $500 cash.
