Syracuse library events this week:
Book Clubs
Teens will be meeting to play Apples to Apples at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, during the new young adult book club meeting. The group is for young people in sixth grade through high school. Come for a snack and a chance to view the new YA book selections that have arrived at the library.
The library hosts five book clubs each month for a variety of ages and interests. Teens meet at 5 p.m. twice each month on the first and third Tuesday. Children from kindergarten through fifth grade meet at 5 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. The serious adult discussion group, One Book One Hour, meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month. A lighter-spirited adult group, Food from Fiction, meets at 1 p.m. the last Thursday of the month to discuss and sample recipes and stories. This group meets through April.
Hearts
Children that enter a heart in February’s heart contest will see their work on displace on the bulletin board. The library provides a heart that can be decorated using supplies at the library or taken home. Entries will be judged on Monday, March 2, and three winners will receive a gift.
