WCHS Band Has Successful Outing At Solo And Ensemble Contest

The Warsaw Community High School Band had a very successful day at District Solo and Ensemble contest on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Eleven solos received Gold ratings.
Students earning Gold ratings for their solo performances were:
Brad Christenberry (for 2 solos), Liam Eagan (for 2 solos), Ben Meulink, Sara Perkins, Martha Robison, Paige Spratt, Daniel Terry, Drew Tomasik, and Lindsey Wolfe. Christenberry, Meulink, Perkins, Robison, Terry, Tomasik, and Wolfe also advanced to the State Solo and Ensemble contest with their solos.
Seven ensembles also earned Gold ratings and qualified for State.
The ensembles advancing to State contest are:
The Woodwind Trio, Clarinet Choir, Low Brass Quartet, Brass Choir, and three Percussion Ensembles.
Silver ratings were awarded to soloists Kole Smith and Taylor Cassel, and the Saxophone Ensemble.
District Solo and Ensemble was held at Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, IN. Approximately fifty WCHS band students will perform at State Solo and Ensemble contest, held on Saturday, Feb. 28 at North Central High School in Indianapolis.
