Warsaw Traffic Safety Commission Swears In New Member
Wednesday afternoon’s brief Warsaw Traffic Safety Commission meeting saw the swearing in of new member Dirk Felger, as well as returning member Dan Robinson.
“It is always helpful to have committed dedicated folks to help and serve on traffic issues within the community,” stated Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer. The mayor then added, “It helps to have some new perspectives and seasoned veterans.”
The board also approved several new traffic signs in the Helser Subdivision neighborhood. A stop sign was approved for the corner of Flora and Marion avenues, while a proposed yield sign at the corner of Robinhood Drive and Glad Street was declined.
Commission member Mike Klondaris stated on the yield sign that was ultimately scratched, “I dont know that I would need to have a stop sign, the traffic is light, it is neighborhood traffic.”
Other approved signs include stop signs at the northeast and southwest corners of the intersection of Mariners Drive and Husky Trail, at the northeast corner of the Glad Street and Husky Trail intersection, at the southeast corner of the Glad Street and Flora Avenue intersection and at the northeast corner of the Flora and Marion avenues intersection.
