Triton Fine Against Familiar Face [VIDEO]
NORTH MANCHESTER – He may be a favorite son in the Triton community, but he was wearing enemy colors Tuesday night.
Manchester girls basketball coach Jake Everett, who starred for Triton’s 2008 state championship team and was the Arthur L. Trester Mental Attitude Award winner that season, couldn’t guide his club to a win against his alma mater, as the Lady Trojans beat the host Lady Squires 35-27.
Kylie Mason’s 45-foot make at the end of the third quarter gave Triton a 26-10 lead in a game where scoring was at a premium. Mason would finish the night with 16 points to lead all scorers.
Jaela Meister added eight points for the Lady Trojans, who held Manchester to just two points in the first quarter and two points in the third quarter.
Triton, ranked No. 7 in the Class 1-A poll, is 13-7 this season and will host Jimtown Saturday in a 1:30 p.m. matinee.
