Mary Ann Cox
Mary Ann Cox, 84 of Winona Lake passed away at 7:10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, in Grace Village Rehabilitation Center, Winona Lake.
On Sept. 13, 1930, she was born in Hammond, Indiana to Howard M. and Marion (Nye) Scott. She was united in marriage to William Eugene Cox on April 7, 1954, at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2001.
Mary Ann was Director of Nurses at Prairie View Healthcare Center, Warsaw, for thirteen years and worked 10 years for Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Winona Lake, Altrusa Club of Warsaw and Eastern Star. Mary Ann was also on the board of directors of Beaman Home, Warsaw.
She is survived by three sons: William E. Cox, Warsaw, Howard M. Cox, Plainfield, and Jeffrey O. Cox, McMinnville, Ore.; three step daughters: Shirley M. Cargile, Washburn, Mo., Anita C. Rash, Granby, Mo., and Billie J. Cox, Granby; one sister: Georgia Helen Venable, Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Deborah Cox and Beverly A. Cox; two sisters: Virginia S. Rulon and Dorthea Green; and a great grandson: Charles William Harold Cox.
Visitation hours will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Winona Lake with Pastor Rob Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
