Warsaw Swim Teams Excel In Quad Meet
WARSAW – It was another productive day Saturday for the Warsaw swim program.
The Warsaw boys team collected three wins, while the girls squad went 2-1 in a four-team meet held at WCHS.
The Tigers defeated Rochester 221-179, Columbia City 231-128 and Bremen 216-189 in boys’ action.
The girls team topped Columbia City 206-156 and Bremen 215-185 and lost a close one to Rochester 202-198.
The outstanding trio of Jayden Parrett, Spencer Davidson and Zach Taylor led the boys team.
Parrett won the 200 freestyle race in 1:48.40 and took first in the 100 backstroke in 53.98. Davidson won the 50 freestyle in 22.40 and the 100 breaststroke in 58.87. Taylor was first in the 200 IM in 2:05.57 and the 100 butterfly in 57.16.
The team of Parrett, Davidson, Taylor and Matt Wildman won the 200 medley relay event in a time of 1:42.47.
The quartet of Davidson, Wildman, Ethan Cook and Hudson Snyder won the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:34.88.
Sophomore Brenna Morgan was a double individual winner for the Warsaw girls’ team. Morgan won the 50 freestyle in 26.53 and the 100 freestyle in 57.74.
Erin Sandberg won the 100 butterfly for Warsaw in 1:11.93. Savannah Taylor was first in the 500 freestyle in 5:58.59.
The team of Morgan, Sandberg, Taylor and Jess Haines won the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 4:11.72.
The Warsaw boys team is 11-1 overall on the season, including a 6-1 mark in conference action. The girls team is now 5-7 overall and they finished 2-5 in the NLC.
The Warsaw boys team will compete in the NLC Championships Thursday and Saturday at Concord High School.
The girls team is idle until sectional action on Feb. 5 and 7 at WCHS.
