Lancers Tip Triton In Bi-County Tourney
LAKEVILLE – Host LaVille edged past Triton Tuesday night in the opening round of the Bi-County Boys Basketball Tournament.
The Lancers topped the Trojans 54-49 in one of the four first-round games contested Tuesday evening.
LaVille advances to the semifinals back at LaVille at 8 p.m. Friday. Triton will play in a consolation game, also at LaVille, on Friday at 8 p.m. in the auxiliary gym.
The Lancers led 15-14 after the opening period and 22-21 at halftime. The hosts were up 40-34 going into the final frame.
Jordan Anderson netted a game-high 24 points to lead the way for Triton. Skyler Reichert had 14 points for the Trojans.
Kyle Kopetski led a balanced offense for LaVille with 15 points. Blake Berger scored 14 and Adam Steinke 11 for the Lancers.
Triton shot 18-34 overall from the field and 6-15 from 3-point range. LaVille was 18-38 overall from the field, including 8-18 from distance.
Triton drops to 7-6 on the season, while LaVille improves to 10-3.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again on Feb. 7 at LaVille in a Northern State Conference game.
