Robert S. Taylor
Robert S. Taylor, 81, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1933, in Warsaw, to Robert W. Taylor and Helen H. (Smith) Taylor. He was a 1951 graduate of Claypool High School. He married Marjorie J. Black May 31, 1953, in Warsaw.
He was a lifetime Warsaw resident and worked at Kimble Glass for 45 years. He retired in 1999 from the quality control department. Robert was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County where he enjoyed the Men’s Prayer Breakfast; faithfully read and studied his Bible; was an avid follower of Grace College basketball and IU Basketball; was a diehard Cubs fan. He also enjoyed gardening, bowling and playing softball with his kids and grandkids
He is survived by four sons: Tim (Cathryn) Taylor, Claypool; Ted (Betty) Taylor, Warsaw; Todd Taylor, Winona Lake; Troy Taylor, Winona Lake; one daughter: Tammy Taylor, Warsaw; eight grandchildren: Daniel Taylor, Mentone; David Taylor, Warsaw;
Matt (Nichole) Taylor, Silver Lake; Sarena Taylor, Warsaw; Barbara (Kory) Stucky, Fort Wayne; Zachary Taylor, Warsaw; Ryan Taylor, Warsaw; four great-grandchildren: Kinsey, Nick, Chevy, Keegan, Kyra, Cael; two sisters: Joyce Bockman, Plymouth; Janet (Dick) Stouder, Atwood.
He was preceded in death by a wife: Marjorie Taylor, on April 19, 2001; Son: Tom Taylor, Oct. 24, 2011; great-grandson: Gryffin Stucky, Nov. 17, 2014; two sisters: June Taylor; Jean Egolf; brother-in-Law: Ray Bockman, Aug. 4, 2011.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home. Pastor Terry Bradford, First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, will officiate. Burial will be held in Mt. Pleasant, Claypool.
