Cumberland Leads Whitko To Victory
WABASH – Brianna Cumberland had a big night as the Whitko girls basketball team returned to its winning ways Saturday night.
Cumberland popped in a game-high 20 points to lead her team past host Southwood 51-33 in a Three Rivers Conference contest.
Whitko, which had lost its last two games, improves to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the TRC.
The Wildcats led 13-8 after the opening period and 27-12 at halftime en route to the league win.
Emily Day scored 11 points and Aly Reiff had nine for Whitko.
Brooke Elliott paced Southwood, now 7-9 overall and 1-4 in the TRC, with nine points.
Whitko plays at Wawasee Tuesday night. Southwood plays at Maconaquah Tuesday night.
