Eagles Have No Problems With Cougars
WINONA LAKE – Elkhart Christian Academy built a nice lead and stayed steady in a 68-40 win at Lakeland Christian Academy Tuesday night in boys buckets.
ECA jumped out to a 20-12 lead in the first quarter and kept the beat going throughout the contest. Drew Overmyer had the hot hand for the Eagles, drilling six three-pointers in the game to finish with a game-high 18 points. Jude Allen helped ECA’s cause with 14 points and Austin Springer finished with 10 points.
The Cougars kept pace with the Eagles for a good portion of the first half, but couldn’t match the hot-shooting visitors from Elkhart County. LCA had Carter Twombly lead in scoring with 14 points and Connor Blum end with nine points. Jon Harmon scored all eight of his points in the first half.
ECA (6-2) will continue to travel along US 30 Thursday when it visits Triton (4-5) while LCA (0-11) will seek its first win of the season Saturday when Portage Christian pays the Winona Lake campus a visit.
