Jan Carter
Jan Carter, 62, of Leesburg, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.
She was born November 23, 1952 in Warsaw, to F. D. “Mouse” and Mary Beth (Light) Leake.
She was a lifetime Kosciusko County, resident. She was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Carter in October of 1981 in Goshen.
She was formerly employed by Explorer Van as director of purchasing, Haimbaugh, Inc. as vice president, Applied Team Technologies as president and co-owner, Proprietor of Leesburg Collectibles and former Leesburg Town Clerk. She was a member of the S.A.L. Auxiliary, Post No. 49, Warsaw.
Survivors include her husband Ted Carter of Leesburg; daughter Lara (spouse John) Ryan of Warsaw; brothers Kim (spouse Linda) Leake of Sholow, Ariz., and Rodney Leake of Pierceton; nephews Derrick, Austin and Ethan; nieces Ameila and Shoshannah; grand-nephews Ian, Jayden and Milo and a grand niece Taliah.
Calling hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Pastor Mike Beasley will officiate the services. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
