Niblock Receives Market Street Bid
Niblock Excavating & Asphalt, Bristol, was awarded the bid for the first phase of Warsaw’s Market Street Reconstruction Project. The bid was awarded this morning during a special Board of Public Works & Safety meeting.
Niblock was the lowest of three bids received on Dec. 23. Their bid was $1,460,530.65.
According to Jeremy Skinner, city planner, the bids were tabulated and Niblock met all the requirements and provided the proper forms according to bidding specifications.
James Emans, city engineer, stated the project is expected to start in early spring and will extend throughout the entire 2015 construction season. Niblock has six months to complete the project.
The project will be from Argonne Road to near Bronson Street and the work will include widening, sidewalks and street lights along Market Street.
The estimated cost of the project was $1,441,628. Other bidders were Reith-Riley Construction Company Inc., Goshen, with a bid of $2,159,352.35 and Phend and Brown Inc., Milford, with a bid of $1,495,315.80.
