North Webster Library news and events this week:
Family Movie Time
At 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, join us for family movie time at the library. This week we will be showing a Disney classic about a little Volkswagen Beetle with a mind of its own. The whole family is welcome to this G-rated comedy that runs 108 minutes. The movie is free and so is the popcorn and you are welcome to bring your own beverages.
Crafts and Stories
At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, kids can come to the library for crafts and stories. We will have some crafts to make and stories to read. This program is geared for children in kindergarten through third grade and we ask that parents remain in the library during the program.
Family Storybook Bingo
From 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 we will wrap up school break with family storybook bingo. The whole family can join in playing bingo using cards with storybook characters. We will play as many games as we can in an hour with lots of chances to win prizes.
Lose It at the Library
This program will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29. This free weight loss support group begins with a weekly confidential weigh in to see how well we survived the Christmas festivities, and then we will evaluate our goals and challenges for the new year with a program on planning a healthy 2015.
If losing weight is on your resolution list, Lose It at the Library can help you obtain your goal. The group meets at 5:30 p.m. every Monday. On the first and third Monday, weigh-in is followed by an informative program covering a variety of topics specifically related to health, diet, exercise, motivation and more. During those months with a fifth Monday, a special program is planned.
This group is led by Mary Erb, a retired registered nurse with many years experience in the healthcare field. Special speakers also present educational programs through the year. Anyone is welcome to join the group or attend the programs.
Holiday Closings
The library will be closed all day Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Thursday, Jan. 1. We will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2.
