Frantz Powers Panthers To Win
BENTON – The NorthWood girls basketball team closed strong Tuesday to win at Fairfield.
The Panthers outscored the hosts 20-10 in the final quarter to come away with a 49-37 win in a non-conference afternoon contest.
NorthWood led 12-8 after the first quarter and 21-11 at halftime. The Falcons rallied to close the gap to 29-27 after the third period of play.
Senior standout Jordyn Frantz led the way for NorthWood. Frantz finished with 21 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists, five steals and five blocked shots.
NorthWood, which has now won its last six games since a home loss to Penn on Dec. 2, improves to 9-3.
Taitlyn Trenshaw scored 12 points for the Panthers. McKayla Fielstra added six for the winners.
Fairfield won the junior varsity game 28-21.
NorthWood (9-3) plays in the Northridge Tournament Dec. 29-30. Fairfield (8-3) plays at Whitko Jan. 6.
