Former Tiger Cager Receives Honor
NEW CASTLE – There is local flavor on the Silver Anniversary Team announced by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame today.
The distinguished group of 18 players, who were seniors in 1990, includes former Warsaw standout Angie (Johnson) Anthony.
Anthony finished her prep career at WCHS with 1,018 points, good for fifth all time in program history. She also helped the Tigers compile an 82-8 record during her high school career.
The Silver Anniversary team has 11 players who were Indiana All-Stars. That group is led by Miss Basketball Patricia (Babcock) McGraw, who played at ….. Joining McGraw are former All-Stars Anthony, Angela (Cotton) McGraw, Jana (Thompson) Gearrier, Jody Martin Perry, Ellen (Blackmun) Probst, Dana (Drew) Shaw, Stacie Shepherd, Jami Sloan, Kamie (Arnold) Tomasek and Karen (Redenbaugh) White.
Also honored on the team are Glenna Bower, Shannon (Willis) Burton, Dianne (McConnell) Haworth, Michelle (Warwick) Michael, Kathy (Lauck) Schreiber, Erin (Duncan) Turk and Carla (Westmoreland) Zellers.
The team will be honored at the Hall of Fame’s annual Women’s Banquet on April 25 at Primo Banquet Hall in Indianapolis.
