Pick Up An Audiobook At The Warsaw Library

It’s that time of year when you spend more time traveling in the car then usual. From running errands, picking up children from play practice, or traveling to your extended families for the holiday celebrations, time in your vehicle is a moment when reading a book is still an option, even if you’re the driver!
Audiobooks can also be handy to use while decorating, baking cookies or just relaxing during the holiday season. How you ask?
Discover the world of audiobooks at the Warsaw Community Public Library. Whether you’re looking for a classic novel or a children’s picture book, we can find an audiobook that will fit your needs.
Some audiobooks come in CD formats, so you can play them in your vehicle’s audio system or on a personal CD player. Depending on the size of the original book, most audiobooks range in size from a couple of CDs to as many as ten.
You simply slip the CD into your vehicle’s audio system, press play, and listen. It’s a great way to spend time on those long road trips.
A recent addition to the audiobook collection are self contained units called, Playaways. Think of it as an MP3 player, but with a downloaded book. All you need are a set of headphones and a battery. With a play, rewind, forward, pause, and stop button, you control your place in the book.
If you just loved that last chapter, simply hit rewind and listen to it again.
With OverDrive and One Click Digital, you can borrow and enjoy a free e-audio from the library’s digital collection. Simply download the corresponding app and create an account with your library card.
An e-audio can be downloaded to an MP3 player, phone or tablet. Playaways and e-audios are a great alternative if your audio system will not support a CD, or if you have a car load of listeners who can’t agree on an individual title.
So as you bake cookies for Santa or drive down the road listening to a book, remember to have a safe and Merry Christmas from the Children’s Department at the Warsaw Community Public Library.
