The Elkhart County 4-H program will be having it’s second Discover 4-H event of the year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10. The event will be held at Concord Mall in Elkhart, located at 3701 S. Main St., Dunlap.
Every first through fifth grader in Elkhart County is invited to attend this event. The purpose of this event is to introduce new families to the Elkhart County 4-H program by showing off several aspects of it. At the event, volunteers from the 4-H program will have demonstrations to show off all of the great opportunities available in the 4-H program.
It is also a great time to meet and greet 4-H leader’s and find more information about local 4-H Clubs. At our previous event, there were tables representing several projects including: 4-H Rabbits, Cake Decorating, Shooting Sports, Robotics, Photography, and many more. There were also many 4-H clubs and 4-H activities represented as well.
Enrollment in 4-H is free for first and second grade, and $15 per child for third grade through high school. The enrollment deadline is Thursday, Jan. 15. We will have paper copies of the 4-H enrollment form available at the Discover 4-H event on Jan. 10. We will also have computers set up for 4-H online enrollment. If you would like to enroll your child in 4-H now, contact the Purdue Extension Elkhart County office at (574) 533-0554 or visit http://in.4honline.com.
