UPDATE: Three Minors Injured In Accident on SR 13
Emergency personnel responded to an accident located on South SR 13 and CR 650E that left three people injured.
According to an accident report filed by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, officers responded to the scene to discover a black 1998 Audi passenger car with severe damage to the rear of the vehicle stopped on the east side of the road. The vehicle was driven by Daven P. Gasaway, 17, of Warsaw. Though Gasaway and a male passenger, identified as Brandon I. Cory, 17, Warsaw, were both still within the vehicle, a female passenger, Keryn M. Konkle, 13, of Warsaw, was reportedly partially ejected from the car. EMS and fire officials responded and attended to all three individuals.
A blue 2013 Chevy Traverse located about 75 feet south of the Audi passenger car was stopped on the west side of the road with severe front end damage from the accident. The driver, identified as Scott E. Bradley, 49, of South Whitley and two passengers, Treyson S. Bradley, 8, and Trenden K. Bradley, 4, all stated they were uninjured and refused medical treatment.
According to Bradley and a witness who had seen the speed Gasaway was traveling but not the accident itself, Gasaway was traveling at a speed unsafe for the icy roadways causing him to fishtail and cross the center line while navigating a curve in the road.
According to police, neither Gasaway or his passengers were restrained during the crash. All three individuals sustained injuries in the crash. Gasaway sustained an incapacitating chest injury,
Konkle complained of pain to her hip and upper leg area and was transported to Lutheran Hospital by ambulance. She is reported in stable condition at this time. Cory, who complained of pain to the shoulder and upper arm area, was also transported to Lutheran Hospital and is in stable condition. Gasaway reportedly sustained a chest injury and was transported to Lutheran Hospital by ambulance as well. He is reportedly in serious but stable condition.
