Martin New Assistant To S-W Chamber Director
By TAMMY COTTON
Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
The Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce announces the addition of an assistant to the chamber director at our office! Kristi Martin, life-long Syracuse resident and passionate community member has been added to our team.
With her community work and involvement in many local businesses, Martin has already brought what we were looking to add to our team into our community for years. Last year she created the group the Young Entrepreneur Association under the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber and is a 2015 Cadet in the Kosciusko Leadership Academy.
She looks forward to working closely with local businesses and providing another outlet for Chamber Members to voice their ideas and create a fresh, exciting profile for our community through her art and design capabilities.
Martin has been working in the Lakes Region through her photography business, The Chrome Lens, for the past five years. Primarily focusing on weddings and portraiture, she has captured many events and scenic backdrops of our lakes and countryside.
She has a bachelor’s in fine arts in studio art, with a minor in anthropology and and has been an artist and lover of culture her entire life. She has also been teaching yoga in our community for the past nine years.
On a personal level, Martin is wife to Nathan Freiburger, local business owner of Psychobilly Kustoms (Independent Motorcycle Custom Shop). The couple opened Psychobilly Kustoms in Syracuse in 2007. The shop recently relocated to SR 13, (next to Grill and Grate), where Martin will be opening up a Yoga Studio in the space she will share there with her husband.
Their son, Memphis, is a preschooler and keeps the couple busy in their free time. She also enjoys supporting local eateries and music, and visiting nearby cities to experience new dining, music, and art cultures.
Feel free to drop by the Chamber offices and welcome Kristi to our staff, or contact her with any new ideas at: [email protected].
