This week’s crime of the week comes from the files of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department would like the community’s assistance in locating individuals responsible for a burglary that occurred at a boat storage facility on the east side of Lake Wawasee. The facility is located on CR 1000N.

Between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1 suspects made forcible entry into the building, and stole 120 Marine batteries valued at over $18,000. Each battery had the owners name written on it in yellow paint. Along with the batteries the facility also lost kerosene heaters, hand tools, power tools, extension cords, chain saws, and power washers. The total loss reported by the victim is over $33,000.
