Mason Paces Triton Victory
BOURBON – The Triton girls basketball team opened conference play in a big, big way Saturday night.
The host Trojans rode a red-hot start to a dominating 54-22 win over Knox in the Northern State Conference opener for both teams.
Triton raced out to a 20-2 lead after the opening period en route to the win.
Kylie Mason had a strong effort for Triton with 17 points. The talented guard hit five 3-pointers and also had 10 rebounds.
Jaela Meister and Lauren Hostrawser each scored eight points and Krystal Sellers had seven for the Trojans.
Triton, which improves to 6-2 overall with its third straight win, hit nine treys in the victory.
Knox falls to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the NSC.
Triton plays at Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday and Knox hosts Oregon-Davis Dec. 12.
