WCHS’s Worrell Nominated For Presidential Scholars Program
The Indiana Department of Education selected 10 Indiana high school students to be nominated for the Presidential Scholars Program. Among the ten selected, WCHS student Tennie Worrell was nominated to be considered for this prestigious award.
Worrell is a senior at Warsaw Community High School. This National Honor Society student is also a member of the Academic All-State Track Team, Octagon Club and a student representative on the Tiger Student Athletic Board. Worrell plans to study public relations with a minor in social entrepreneurship with a career goal in communication as a public relations specialist.
President Lyndon Johnson, by executive order, created the Presidential Scholars Program award in 1964 and has honored more than 6,500 high school students who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship. The Presidential Scholars for 2015 will be selected from the nominees by the Commission on Presidential Scholars and is one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
WCS would like to congratulate Tennie Worrell and her family for this academic achievement and wish her the best in pursuing her goals and dreams!
