AKRON – A strong performance in the third quarter lifted Tippecanoe Valley past Argos in boys basketball action Tuesday night.
The host Vikings outscored the Dragons 18-5 in the third quarter en route to posting a 54-43 win.
Valley, which lost its season opener 61-48 at Warsaw on Nov. 26, led 17-12 after the first quarter. The Vikings were up just 25-23 at halftime before stretching their lead to 43-28 with their third quarter effort. Argos managed to score just two field goals in the third period of play.
Alex Thacker led the way for coach Bill Patrick’s Vikings with 16 points.
Chandler O’Connor scored 13 points and Jarred Littlejohn had 10 for Valley. Neil Clampitt added seven points for the winners.
Valley (1-1) hosts Knox and Argos (1-1) hosts Winamac on Friday night.
