Christmas Offerings At WCPL

It’s that time of year again, the hustle, the bustle, the snow, the gifts and of course, shopping. Yes, Christmas is here again, and it’s time to stop at your Warsaw Community Public Library to check out the new offerings we have, and get in that Christmas spirit.
Let’s start with new musical compact discs that we’ve received to help you relax. New selections include “30/40” by Mannheim Steamroller; “Christmas in Harvard Square” by St. Paul’s Church (Mass.); “The Classic Christmas Album” by Divo; or maybe “Holiday Wishes” by Idina Menzel.
On the other hand, if you need musical selections to get you energized, I would suggest “A Wild-Eyed Christmas Night” by .38 Special, “Christmas Time Again” by Lynyrd Skynyrd (my personal favorite); “The Classic Christmas Hard Rock Album,” or “An Americana Christmas.”
Maybe a family night of watching movies is your family tradition. We have some fantastic new selections to set the tone of family, movies, and popcorn nights. Let’s start with the classics that we grew up with. New this season is a double DVD collection of “Rudolph,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Santa Claus is Coming To Town,” and four more. Of course, you can’t miss “The Christmas Story” with Ralphie and his pink bunny pajamas; and my new favorite, “The Polar Express.”
Other new movie selections are “The Christmas Hope,” The Christmas Candle,” “Moonlight and Mistletoe” or the “Home Alone Family Collection.” All of these are destined to become your new holiday favorites.
Let’s finish off the night with some new books for the youngest in the family, but sure to be enjoyed by even the oldest. “The Great Pirate Christmas Battle” by Michael Lewis; “What the Shepherd Saw,” by Selma Lagerlof; “And Then Comes Christmas,” by Tom Brenner; or our favorite character Corduroy in “A Christmas Wish for Corduroy,” written by B.G. Hennessy.
Whatever your family tradition may be, stop in at the Warsaw Community Public Library and pick up an evening of fun. Decorate the tree to a background of favorite tunes, snuggle with the kids on the couch to watch a holiday movie, and then tuck them in with a good book. Sounds like the perfect evening.
Have a wonderful holiday season everyone!
